Dog Treats
On Saturday I went to the cupboard to get my dog, Hershey, a treat. The jar was empty.
So I decided to bake her some!
I dug through our many cookbooks searching for a simple recipe to make dog treats. I didn't find any. So I checked our bookshelf. I finally found an easy recipe for garlic treats out of "Country Wisdom and Know-how". Here's a list of the ingredients I used:
Whole Wheat Flour
Quick cooking oats
Water
Vegetable Oil
Garlic
I rolled the dough out on our butcher's block and used cookie cutters (supplied by my dear aunt) to make them in fun shapes.

Cookies!
Around our house, we are very festive. Especially my mother. =)
We really like cookies. As a result, festive cookies are frequently found occupying our cookie jar.
Here are some examples:

Cowboy Calzones!

In the Beginning....
Hello there! You may be wondering what this is all about, and I will tell you. My mother and I were having a discussion with my father the other day about our cookbooks. My mom and I have upwards of 75 cookbooks. He put forth that we never use our cookbooks. This is NOT true. We just don't use them as much as we should. :) So, Mom and I decided we were going to cook a recipe out of a cookbook at least once each week, as well as post other recipes that are special to our family. My mother is an avid photographer who in the past has owned her own photography business, so you can also expect pictures to accompany our recipes.
